Emoding was killed over the weekend and his body dumped on railway slippers in Magamaga trading centre, Mayuge district.
His lifeless body was found with wounds on the neck, hands and legs.
Gunmen have shot and killed one person in Magamaga Trading Centre in Mayuge district. Henry Basoga was watching television inside his residence around 8:45pm on Wednesday night when the assailants broke in, gunned him down and fled the scene.
“As a community, we feel it is not safe for us but, we can’t do anything about it because those engaged in this business are powerful people. These youths plant Jerry cans in front of our shops and whenever trucks make stop overs. An average of 10 boys gather to interact with the drivers as they siphon fuel,” he said.
At the medical camps residents benefited from free malaria screening, hepatitis B vaccination, immunization of children below five years, sensitisation on primary health care and proper nutrition.
On Wednesday, a team of motorized, non-motorized and non-uniformed officers were seen patrolling black spots at Magamaga, Baitambogwe, Bulanga, Iganga CMS, Nakalama, Namutumba town council area and Busowa. The patrols stem from a spate of accidents in the region, which have claimed more than 21 people within a space of one week.
The officers were equipped with skills in repairing small guns like pistols, AK-47, and other fighter riffles during peace support operations and wartime periods. The trained officers carry the mandate of safeguarding firearms in the different armoury where they shall be deployed by their respective commanders.
