Sylvia Kugonza, one of the journalists, says the incident occurred at around 7 pm on Wednesday when the journalists were returning from work. She explains that as they were approaching Kenya Commercial Bank branch in Kisenyi, Fort Portal, they met the Kabarole District Police Commander – DPC John Faustine Oese and other police officers on patrol.
On Thursday, during a debate held on Zoom that was organised by Kabarole Research and Resource Centre – KRC, and attended by hundreds of Kabarole residents and leaders, Justinian Niwagaba explained that civil servants in the elevated municipalities will remain with their jobs and work in the cities.
