the complainants told the Court to first determine their complaint issued on oath and issue criminal summons against Ssemakadde requiring him to appear and be formally charged.
Busobozi asked Court to direct Kyazze to take oath for cross-examination on his submission. Speaking on behalf of the team, Bazekuketta explained that they want to cross-examine the State Attorney over his claims that the DPP is still inquiring into the matter, saying there was no evidence to this effect.
The defense team led by Isaac Ssemakadde has lined up 19 witnesses including doctors, professors and religious leaders. Kamasanyu has summoned the witnesses to appear in court following an application by Nyanzi’s lawyer.
Buganda Road Grade one Magistrate Gladys Kamasanyu ordered Nyanzi to start preparing her defense arguing that prosecution through their three witnesses have been able to prove the ingredients of the charges against her.
The exhibits were initially opposed by Nyanzi’s lawyers, Isaac Ssemakadde and Derrick Bazekuketta on grounds that they were disclosed to them after the completion of the investigations as directed by on November, 9th, 2018.
