Presidential candidate Willy Mayambala has said he plans to send Ugandans text messages if he can get their phone numbers of Ugandans from the National Registration and Identification Authority (NIRA) as a means to reach many voters.
Some of the prominent faces are; Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu the President National Unity Platform (NUP) and Alliance for National Transformation (ANT)’s President General Mugisha Muntu.
The State Minister for Gender and Culture who doubles as the Bunyangabu District Woman Member of Parliament, Peace Regis Mutuuzo, says that the beneficiaries were selected from a list generated by the National Identification and Registration Authority – NIRA in the district.
Joseph Biribonwa, the former Vice Chairman of the Electoral Commission, boasts of more than 40 years of professional experience, in the area of democracy and governance, management and administration and finance and corporate governance.
According to the revised guidelines, the teachers are now required to have a national identity card and certified copies of academic documents before they can register on the Teacher Management Information System-TMIS. Previously, teachers were required to have education certificates and a copy of an identity card of their former schools.
