Ignatius Draguddu, the Greater East Madi Police Spokesperson told URN on Monday morning that Draguddu is accused by residents of Apaa Township and Zoka area of attempted murder, torture, rape, and assault.
Residents in the area have asked the government to create a semi-autonomous Sub County of Apaa that will be under the supervision of the central government and overseen by a Deputy Resident District Commissioner.
Santo Okot, the human rights defender in Apaa Township says that dozens of irate Madi people infiltrated Juka and Goro B and Lutoya villages in the wee hours Wednesday in an attempt to force their way in to bury the slain man but were stopped.
According to Bhoka, the district has been battling a measles outbreak since February this year. The most affected areas include Itirikwa Sub County, which hosts the disputed Apaa Township.
The others are Ofua and Pakele sub counties and Adjumani town council.
