Prof. John Bosco Ikoja, the University Vice Chancellor says that they have funding needs that limited admissions of medical students in 2022. Ikoja says that the university is in need of more funds to build, hire staff, run activities, maintain students, pay for services that include teaching equipment, supplies and chemicals.

Soroti University Secretary Petitions Anti-Corruption Unit Citing Persecution 1

“Four staff members who were arraigned before the Anti-Corruption Court, Kampala, pleaded guilty to abuse of office, causing financial loss, and conspiracy to defraud and had their cases dropped by DPP. Ref: Criminal Case No. 149/2019 Uganda Vs Omeke David, Odongo James, Otim Gilbert, and Omoding Samuel. One staff member, who stole and sold a bull, which belonged to the University has never been prosecuted”, she notes in her May 16th, 2022 letter.

Court Quashes Audit Reports Against Soroti University Secretary judicial review 2

During the hearing, the Auditor General through an affidavit of Senior Auditor, General Bashir Lubega opposed the application, saying that the forensic investigations and reports were done in line with the National Audit Act of 2008 and therefore are in line with the required procedure.
