Under the 2019–2024 implementation period, Kasese received UGX 54 billion, which facilitated the construction and upgrading of 10 roads totaling 7 kilometers, the procurement of a garbage collection truck, and the fencing of municipal council offices.
About 5.64 KM of roads in town have been worked on, modern street lights installed, pavements, business access roads, green zones, and improved drainage systems. Three other roads; Rukiidi III, Portal extension, and Crescent roads measuring 320m have also been considered for tarmacking with all works expected to be complete by the end of December.
This is the third time the contract is being extended to allow the contractors complete the works after failing to meet the first and second extensions.
