At the time of the move, the health workers, who include members of Village Health teams-VHTs and Health workers attached to various health facilities in the district, were reportedly demanding more than 12 million Shillings in allowances.
Bullisa district established Ebola screening centers last year to avert a possible infiltration by suspected Ebola victims from the Democratic Republic of Congo-DRC where more than 2000 succumbed to the epidemic.
Dr. Fredrick Kugonza, the Hoima District Disease Surveillance Officer, says such people are a huge concern to health workers and local authorities trying to prevent any further cross-border contamination.
Dr. Joseph Ruyonga, the Hoima District Health Officer says they have engaged the Health Ministry and World Health organization-WHO to support them with more logistics to establish more screening centers more especially in Hoima district.
