Enock Ariga Marindi, another resident notes that the entire compensation process is shrouded in mystery, saying the ministry has deliberately hidden information from them. He says only a few have been compensated but no one can tell the criteria used to decide who receives the money.
Rev Esau Bbosa Kimangye, the Assistant Vicar of Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, says they were concerned when they learnt of the development, saying the project is a threat to the safety and security of the museum, where both the church and government have sank a lot of money.
Authorities note that though the municipality has been hosting the day for years with a lot of indirect benefits due to the influx of people in the area for over almost a month, they have been lacking a proper plan strategized to ensure that the municipality remit some revue to its coffers.

Eric Kanyange, another resident notes that he had been given a compensation number with his property valued at Shillings 51 million and has all the documents but he was surprised to find that his name and reference number were missing on the list of people who were due to collect their monies.
Hajji Hussein Kato, Kira Municipality education officer, says it is improper for government to continue speeding money on this school whose fate is hanging in balance. He says on top of the capitation grant, they supply materials to this school and deployed teachers who are literately doing nothing.
Paul Tumusiime, a Security Guard at one of the neighboring buildings, says there was shaking before the actual explosion, which lasted for some minutes. "It was like an earthquake and afterward it exploded like a bomb. In the next few minutes people hurried to get out of all the neighboring buildings,” Tumusiime said.
Buganda’s Cultural Affairs Minister, Godfrey Kyewalabye Male, says they have already constructed the palace where the Kabaka will stay during the celebrations.
