Denis Tugume, a member of the NPA board who represented the Executive Director during the commemoration of World Town Planning Day in Masaka City, expressed concern about the apparent reluctance of local governments to enforce physical planning laws.
Patrick Nkalubo, the Sembabule LC V Chairperson, says that the district council has resolved to renew their demands by petitioning the Ministry of Land, Housing, and Urban Development, the Attorney General, and the Ministry of Local Government.
From analysis of the results, 602 candidates (about 28%) were negatively affected by modules such as engineering surveying, engineering mathematics II, Strength of Materials, AutoCAD (a commercial computer-aided design and drafting software application) and Thermodynamics.
Last week, a team of Mbale district officials led by the LC V Chairperson, Bernard Ely Mujasi, the Mbale District Council Speaker, Muhammad Mafabi and sub county LC III Chairpersons among others mobilized residents to demonstrate against the ongoing boundary demarcation in Bubyangu, Wanale, Busano and the neighboring sub counties.
