More than 150,000 new cases of the disease were reported on Thursday, the highest single daily total so far, most of them in the Americas, though large numbers came from South Asia and the Middle East. Globally, there were nearly 7.4 million cases of COVID-19 as of Friday, including more than 450,000 deaths.
The call follows a report titled “Money Talks; Assessing funding flows to local and national actors in Uganda, which established that local agencies are not benefiting equally from the growth in international humanitarian assistance to Uganda, compared with their international counterparts.
