Kwoyelo denied all the 93 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity brought against him by the state. He was formally charged under the penal code act and the international customary law of the domesticated Geneva Convention.
The confusion surrounding Kwoyelo’s freedom status begun last Friday when after a court ruling ceasing his prosecution, he was instead handcuffed and whisked away in a prisons car to Luzira prison where he has remained on remand despite the ruling.

Hearing of the case against Thomas Kwoyelo, the former LRA director of operation failed to take off today before the International Crimes Division Court in Gulu leaving several people who packed the courtroom to listen to the proceedings stranded.
