Although official prayers were due to start at 9am, speeches by the various leaders continued beyond 10:30am evoking protests among faithfuls who accused their leaders of disrespecting Eid prayers. Masaka Municipality MP Mathias Mpuuga was delivering a speech at the time of the unrest.
