The Town Council has a population of 17,000 people with more than 500 of them engaged in cross-border trade. They deal in general merchandise, agricultural produce, hardware, restaurants and supermarkets among others.
Kassim Kule, the Elegu Township Local Chairperson told URN on Tuesday that the disease has been reported among both the young and elderly persons of all sexes. He disclosed that the disease makes one scratch themselves ‘’shamelessly’’ even among the public.
