According to family members of some detained suspects who spoke to URN, some people claiming to be government officials hoodwinked area youth chairperson Kibirige Peter Clever of Bwaise I parish to mobilize youth that would attend a youth meeting at Club Whispers Kanyanya, saying that government wanted to register youths who would benefit from upcoming youth projects cash.
URN visited selected taxi parks in the city area to see how taxi operators were copying. At Kas Club Taxi Park in Bwaise in Kawempe division, URN found more than 10 drivers sited in groups of two and fours.
According to police, in the first incident the group poured petrol and tried to torch the tires of the Movement Bus Registration number UAD 795E that is parked outside Major Kakooza Mutale’s office along Mawanda road in Kampala.
