According to the letter, Kisaakye says that Museveni appointed her to serve as a Justice of the Supreme Court on October 12th 2009 and by the time she wrote this letter, she had served in the Supreme Court for 13 years and ten months.
According to Owiny-Dollo, he proposed Kisaakye’s ruling to be delivered on March 22nd or 23rd, 2021 and informed the Attorney General that they were to be informed of the day accordingly but she insisted, stormed out of the Supreme Court building and addressed a press conference that day and even a day after and because of this, he referred the matter to the JSC and the process is now at an advanced stage.
“Justice Kisaakye has now become a victim of the bullshit protocol. When they partook in sentencing Ivan Sebaduka and violating his rights no one spoke up, now when it’s a Supreme Court Judge suddenly it gathers all this attention. As Ugandans our Supreme Court /courts lost value a long time ago,” said Atabua.
In the petition filed before the Constitutional Court, Kisaakye who is seeking 24 orders among dozens of other declarations wants the record showing that she has been away without official leave quashed and be assigned duties and reinstated as the administrative head of the Supreme Court.
”ICJ has received reports indicating that a disciplinary inquiry was initiated by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) following Justice Kisaakye’s decision to deliver her dissenting judgment in one of the 2021 presidential election petitions. In that case, main opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu had filed a petition challenging the results of the 2021 presidential election”, reads the Statement.
Justice Kisaakye dismissed all Magombe's grounds of appeal saying in much as the offences against him are not capital in nature, his offences are serious with far-reaching implications on our society.
