Museveni in a message read for him by Premier Robinah Nabbanja at the burial made fond statements about the late and the party he led but also expressed sadness that Ssemogerere had in 1996 forsaken his “national Unity government.”
Archbishop Paul Ssemogerere who is also related to the late former Democratic President said they are happy that Ugandans are not mocking and continue to praise the late even at his death.

Moreover, according to Siranda, Kyotera is an appropriate branch to lead the revival, seeing as the district did win 2 parliamentary seats and several LCV councilor seats.

Among the proposals according Muyizi include adopting the DP Parliamentary Chief Whip as a direct member to the party’s National Executive Committee NEC, introduction of specific Women and Youth Delegates Conferences, and introduction of councils for Special Interest groups.
