Mugara says the regulations to guide compensation are in the final stages of development by the Ministry of Justice, adding that by the end of March next year the Act will be fully operational.
Geoffrey Kasozi a model farmer in Karusandara sub county says they have had numerous discussions with various stakeholders in regard to the Act.
But he questions why the compensation clause has been handled sluggishly yet the wild animals continue to cause havoc in communities including destroying crops and injuring people.
According to the Act, compensation will be given to a person who suffers bodily injury or is killed or suffers damage of his or her property by wild animals.
