Conservationists like Cross-Cultural Heritage Centre, (CCFU), Historic Resource Conservation Initiatives (HRCI) and Perfect Events Ltd, have called for the preservation of the Watoto Church Building built in the 1940s by the Indian businessman; Norman Godinho and housed Norman, the first Cinema hall in Kampala.
Watoto Pastoral Team leader Julius Rwotlonyo days that the Church has opted to downsize and adjust its activities and operations until the situation normalizes. Watoto Church employs over 1000 people across its 13 branches and homes.
According to health ministerJane Ruth Aceng, the recovered patients hold a key message of hope and testimony that the virus can be avoided and treated. Aceng was today receiving a donation of face masks and gloves worth 80 million shillings from Watoto Church. The event was held at the Ministry of Health Headquarters in Kampala.
The choir raises awareness about the work of Watoto Church globally and also offers leadership training for children. The team returned to Uganda on March 20, 2020 and have since then been and institutional quarantine at Entebbe.
