According to the prosecution, on October 28, 2022 while at their residence in Kabedo Opong in Bardege-Layibi Division in Gulu City, Amony with Malice aforethought killed Etuk Joseph.
The committee says that cases of STIs including gonorrhea and syphilis were widely registered among inmates in Gulu Main Prison, Kitgum Prison, Kiryandongo, and Kaladima Prisons in Amuru district.
They also questioned why simple cases take long in courts, decried discrimination in bail and fixing cases for hearing, inequality before court, loss of court files from the court, trying of accused in absence of victims, and delay in the courts of appeal among others.
On Monday, Justice Alex Mackay Ajiji, the Resident Judge of Gulu High Court told the Chief Justice that more than 300 remand inmates had applied for plea bargaining while another 117 were received from Lira High Court for the session.
Nasulu Hassan Ntalo , the Deputy Registrar of Gulu High Court told Uganda Radio Network on Sunday that a team of five judges is lined up to preside over the session, adding that all the accused persons are already at the session`s holding Centre at Gulu Main Prisons.
