The members say that the fear for lining up could be responsible for low turn up in Friday's party primaries. They add that through lining up, voters interests are exposed, yet at the same time, this takes away one's political privacy.
In Kyabando Central Zone members converged at St Paul Kyebando Primary School to vote for their candidates but by 9:48, members were still waiting at the entrance with polling officers inside the school.
The move stems from Saturday’s violence where supporters of former Education Minister, Jessica Alupo Epel were attacked by supporters of her rival, Akurut. Three people were later hospitalized in Katakwi General Hospital after sustaining injuries.
The clashes between supporters of the incumbent, Violet Adome Akurut and former Education Minister, Jessica Alupo occurred in Katakwi Market area as some of the attacked boda- boda cyclists for carrying posters of candidates.
