In 2008, the claimants through Makmot-Kibwanga Co. Advocates, petitioned Lira High Court claiming for the compensation of 1,100,055 lost heads of cattle and 796,377goats. In 2014, former High Court Judge, Justice Simon Byabakama awarded the claimants 1.9 trillion as compensation of their lost animals.
