While other regions consume alcohol for pleasure and other reasons, in Karamoja, local brews like Ebutia in Kotido and Kwete in Moroto, Napak, and Nakapiripirit are taken as food by the local communities. Some people depend on the local brew for days without eating any solid food.
It’s reported that Lady Kuku abandoned her son with a maid, also a minor at Lomukura Cell, Central Division in Kotido Municipality, after allegedly getting into another relationship with a man believed to be a UPDF soldier attached to 405 Brigade.

"Kotido has 79 parishes, but only 21 primary schools and 6 secondary schools across 19 sub-counties. This will soon be inadequate if not addressed now," Oola stated.
The forces also seized a firearm, a SAR 17373 with one live round of ammunition, and neutralised a rustler following an exchange of fire with Turkana herdsmen in Kotein.
