According to Magogo, FUFA in partnership with the Uganda Beach Soccer Association will extend the sport to different Universities and schools and other regions in a bid to make it popular around the country.
The Sand Cranes head coach, Salim Muwonge thanked his players for the good performance despite their failure to win the game. He said both the team and team bench have gathered good experience that they will build on in the next championship
Goals from Swaleh Ssimbwa, Emmanuel Alex and a brace from Isma Kawawulo helped the Sand Cranes to outpace Tanzania in a do die game that helped Uganda collect their first win in the championship.
Sand Cranes assistant coach Bashir Mutyaba said they lost to an experienced team which they all knew, however he said they will learn from the mistakes as they prepare to take on Tanzania in their next game.
This is the first time Uganda is playing in the finals of the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations. The team automatically qualified for the finals automatically after Uganda's qualifying opponents, Ghana withdrew from the tournament.
The team of 15 players will depart the country on Wednesday morning for West Africa aboard Ethiopian Airlines. The tournament is slated for 23- 29 May.
Team assistant coach Bashir Mutyaba says the technical team has opted to organize friendly games in between the players dividing them into two teams as a way of assuring match fitness.
The squad will have a residential camp at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru starting this Friday on 7th where they will undergo different training sessions under the guidance of head coach Salim Muwonge.
