“Our party is not violent or murderous, security has been using the same tactics in the past to tarnish opposition members," said Mpuga. "Not a single group or any suspect was prosecuted in the first Bijambiya spate in Masaka during the regime of Gen Kayihura. What happened?"
According to Mpuuga, since the new budget has not yet been executed, the 44.7 trillion Shillings budget for the financial year, should be adjusted through a motion of Parliament, to avail more funds for COVID-19 vaccine procurement, to remunerate the health workers, and facilitate the procurement of ambulances, drugs and oxygen among others.
The leaders had gone along with at least 500 liters of liquid soap and water containers which they were donating to markets as a way of supporting the hand-washing campaign among vendors and their clients.

However, Mpuuga, who also doubles as the Nyendo-Mukungwe division Member of Parliament in Masaka city faults the NRM caucus for overlooking other urgent needs of the country such as improving the facilities managing COVID-19 patients as opposed to rubberstamping a proposal that lacks significance to Ugandans.
