The House Appointments Committee chaired by Deputy Speaker, Anita Among on Tuesday backtracked on its earlier position and approved Kaboyo’s ministerial appointment. A total of 22 legislators from the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party voted in favour of Kaboyo’s approval, 4 Opposition MPs rejected while 1 abstained.
According to sources, the Committee chaired by the Deputy Speaker, Anita Among, 22 legislators from the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party voted in favour of Kaboyo’s approval, four opposition MPs rejected the nomination while one abstained.
According to sources, the committee rejected her appointment basing on the June 2012 incident when the Anti-Corruption Court convicted her, after she pleaded guilty to some of the counts in the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) case.
