The tenants are seeking an interim order restraining UIA from subleasing the industrial park Land to Mbarara Gatsby Club, a consortium of small-scale entrepreneurs in Mbarara City.
Tumwesigye petitioned the court challenging Arinaitwe’s victory on grounds that there was non-compliance with the provisions of the electoral laws and the failure to conduct the elections per the law affected the outcome of the results.
The petition was filed by Jeremiah Kamurari, a challenger for the same seat in the just concluded elections challenging Nathan Byanyima’s academic qualifications. Kamurari had argued that Byanyima did not have the requisite qualifications to contest for a parliamentary seat.
