According to Col. Wanyama, they have killed 20 suspected ADF rebels and recovered over 10 guns and various calibers of ammunition over the past month. Wanyama, who shared the sector operation status report with URN, said that whereas the ADF threat still exists, the trend of violence has reduced enabling many people who had fled to Uganda to return to their communities and resume a normal life.
But the accused persons were sent to Luzira Prison until May 20th 2022 when they will be appearing before the Chief Magistrate who has the powers to try them as investigations into the case against them continues.
The prosecution told Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court presided over by Dr. Douglas Singiza, that between 2021 and January 2022 while in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo-DRC, the ex- Guantanamo inmate in Cuba together with others still at large, belonged or professed to belong to ADF, a designated terror organization.
Milton Kule Mburara, the Kithoma/Kanyansi Town Council LC III chairperson, says that the asylum seekers started arriving on Monday night and were registered at Kanyansi playground, which is acting as a temporary reception centre.

According to the charge sheet, the accused persons unlawfully manufactured, placed, and detonated Improvised Explosive Devices-IEDs in Mpigi, Wakiso, and Kampala districts with intentions of causing death or serious bodily injuries and a major economic loss.
A team of joint security personnel comprised of the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence-CMI and Joint Anti-Terrorism Taskforce-JAT arrested a man identified as Abdul Katumba who was found in possession of materials allegedly used in making Improvised explosive Devises-IED.
