Lynus Opigo, the Principal Human Resource Officer, and the former Chief Administrative Officer, Geoffrey Nkuruziza were found culpable for negligently overpaying emoluments of some staff of Masindi by 11.4 million Shillings and 6million to ghosts.
Speaking to URN in an interview on Friday, Ssenyonyi disclosed that despite the arrest warrant they issued to the Parliament’s Police Commander to arrest Imaryo on site, the Police have since failed to effect the directive after reports emerged that the suspect is being protected by ‘powerful people’ in Government and may be helped flee the country.
They include; George Kasumba, Agnes Nabwera, Sarah Nanyanzi, Mathew Kigozi, Mathew Kafeero Ibrahim Chekedi and John Damulira. The victims were reportedly picked up by security operatives from areas within Kampala, Greater Masaka, and Mukono during the 2020 campaign period.
