Aisha Kabanda, the Butambala Woman MP laid on the floor of parliament a letter dated July 12, 2022, authored by Minister Nabakooba and addressed to the Inspector General of Police –IGP regarding land for Ms Internal Medicine Virginia Limited.
Uganda Radio Network- URN learnt that the Land Commission allocated 2 acres of land to ROKO Construction Company Limited in consideration OPEC's 1.7 acres on which ROKO had initially constructed a slab for its client. ROKO also received compensated worth 15.72 billion in lieu of any interest they held in 2 acres earlier allocated to them, inclusive of the slab. This figure is inclusive of 87 percent interest rate per annum. The payment is deemed irregular because as a third party, ROKO had no claim whatsoever against the government.
Robert Wandwasi, the Bungokho South MP supported the committee's recommendation to retire the ULC commissioners in the public interest, saying that this would help safeguard public land.
