The armed warriors suspected to be Pokot from Amudat district attacked the herdsmen from the grazing ground on Monday at around 3:00 pm in Ariamawoi village in Nabilatuk town council. The herdsmen ran for their lives allowing the warriors to raid 50 cows belonging to Peter Lokol.
According to Police, Napak District has been at the forefront of trafficked children in Karamoja with an estimated of about five hundred children trafficked to various destinations in Soroti, Mbale, Busia, Iganga, Kampala, and Nairobi annually.
The schools often register big numbers in the lower classes and the enrollment keeps dropping from the upper level as children get involved in other economic activities that limit them from completing the primary education cycle.
However, when they reach the adolescent stage, the children especially girls withdraw from school to get married while boys are taken to the kraal to look after livestock.
The works include the construction of 2 classrooms, an office for the Headteacher, 2 stance Pit latrines for boys, furniture for the 2 classrooms, and 2 tables for the teachers.
The construction works will cost Shs 400 million shillings for the grading of the road, installation of culverts, repairing of the drifts, installing of drainage channels and spot graveling on selected areas.
Elijah Liko, the Nabilatuk District Engineer said that the works have commenced and are expected to be complete in a period of three months.
In 2020, Uganda National Roads Authority contracted QubeRoot Construction Company Limited to murrum the 40-kilometer road at Shillings 5.7 billion. The project was expected to be completed in August 2021. However, three years down the road the constructor is yet to complete the works, something that has angered the district officials.
Michael Longole, the Mt Moroto Regional Police Spokesperson, revealed that the duo took advantage of a heavy downpour to remove an iron sheet from the roof of their cell and flee.
Longole noted that the duo managed to remove one iron sheet from the roof of the cell during heavy downpour and varnished.

According to Lote, the repeated attacks on his home are intended to punish him for providing information to security forces. The warriors allegedly received reliable information from a security agent that Lote was the source of the leaks.
Lote told URN that the suspected warriors have carried out several attacks on his home to punish him for providing information on the armed warriors to the security forces.
Frank Tumwebaze, the minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries told URN that since it is rainy season, they have mobilized tractors from Namalere Agriculture Research centre to support farmers in karamoja embark on mechanized agriculture.
Raymond Korobe, the Nabilatuk District Education Officer, says that the two secondary schools have started admitting senior five students who will later next year be enrolled for the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education-UACE.
Nabilatuk Deputy Resident District Commissioner Jacinta Ayo told URN that hundreds of children are trafficked from Nabilatuk and taken to other regions after parents have been convinced that they will be making enough money to sustain their families back home. She says traffickers are targeting children aged between 10 and 17.
The ban follows an incident in which the community of Napore village in Kosike sub county teamed up and beat three men from Amudat district who were following their cows which were stolen by suspected warriors from Nabilatuk district. The incident happened on September, 18
