Edson Kambere, the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KML, stated that vital assets are being swept away, and even the few remaining items are being vandalized by unknown individuals. He added that the company estimates losing over 1,000 meters of 33KV line monthly and emphasized the need for the government to conduct another assessment of the facility.
The money will be used to rehabilitate major roads leading to the mines and the offices, renovate an office block, work on a transmission line to Kilembe Secondary School and procurement of pumps for underground water.
