When Our Reporter arrived at the UPDF General Court Martial, where the treachery case against Dr. Kizza Besigye, Obeid Lutaale Kamulegeya, and Captain Denis Oula had been fixed for hearing, she was informed by a lieutenant that there was no court session today.
The reforms arise from a long awaited judgement in the unsuccessful appeal filed by the Attorney General Kiryowa Kiwanuka seeking to maintain the trial of civilians in the court martial.
Kiwanuka, in a speech at the opening of the New Law Year 2023, said the confusion is arising from the judgments from the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court.
