The operations followed the arrest of two suspected thugs Isaac Kawukyi and Swaibu Ssesimbo, who reportedly staged an illegal roadblock in Nsangi and stole two new motorcycles.
Police Spokesperson, Rusoke Kituuma says that Ojoke was arrested following numerous complaints from motorcyclists along Entebbe Road, where he was known to impound and release motorcycles in exchange for payments of UGX 50,000 or more on a daily basis.
During a security press briefing at Naguru Police headquarters, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Kituuma Rusoke, the Police Spokesperson, told journalists that their investigation had hit a roadblock due to Kyagulanyi’s refusal to cooperate.
Joel Ssenyonyi, the National Unity Platform-NUP Spokesperson, said that they requested Kyagulanyi to be discharged after receiving reports that plain-clothed security personnel wanted to gain access to the room he was in and demanding his medical forms from the hospital.
According to Police Spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke, the main suspect, Tony Semuyaba, was arrested with the assistance of the police canine unit. The sniffer dog tracked the scent to Semuyaba's residence in Kasubi, revealing a surprising twist: the suspect is the brother of the deceased, Julius Muyanja.
According to Owoyesigyire, this isn't the suspect's first involvement in such acts. He says that they are investigating the motive behind Kirumira's actions.
