The group was last month convicted on their own plea of guilty and later sentenced by the seven-member panel of the Court Martial chaired by Brigadier Robert Freeman Mugabe.
Initially, a five-year jail term was pronounced, but Mugabe deducted the time they had already served, resulting in the final sentence of three months and 22 days at Luzira Prison.
The State said that whereas several NUP supporters were arrested during and after the 2021 elections, those who were found not to have participated in crimes were released while others were being held because they reportedly had cases to answer.
