According to preliminary reports, a group of Pian and Pokot warriors clashed in Kawala village, resulting in the death of an unidentified Karamojong man. The incident is believed to be related to a cattle raid that occurred earlier in the day.
On the 9th of January 2025, a group of suspected Karamojong armed warriors attacked the herders at Pian-Upe Game Reserve and killed two juveniles before raiding 500 heads of cattle. The juveniles killed were identified as Lod aged 14 and Pulkol aged 16 years while Isaac Karimok, aged 18 was severely injured.
