Kasanga Ofungi, the LC I Chairperson of Kyehoro landing site, says that the assailants took off when area residents sounded an alarm after several houses caught fire. He says that residents struggled to put off the fire in vain.

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson, says Asaba’s lifeless body was found lying in a pool of blood near her house. He says Kagadi police rushed to the crime scene and retrieved the body, which currently lying at Kagadi Hospital Mortuary pending postmortem.
The police spokesperson for Kigezi Region, Elly Maate says that preliminary investigations show that the deceased was strangled to death. But his killers did not take any of his possessions which included, among others, a mobile phone and money.
