Epitu Gadi, the Kaabong District Deputy Resident District Commissioner revealed that the people killed were either investigating the rustlers or those who have reported to the authorities about the raids of their cattle.
The incident happened at around 8: 30 p.m. on Thursday when the attackers hacked the two relatives with machetes on the head, chest and face. They also left a seven-year-old, Enock Asaba critically injured.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson, says Asaba’s lifeless body was found lying in a pool of blood near her house. He says Kagadi police rushed to the crime scene and retrieved the body, which currently lying at Kagadi Hospital Mortuary pending postmortem.
The police spokesperson for Kigezi Region, Elly Maate says that preliminary investigations show that the deceased was strangled to death. But his killers did not take any of his possessions which included, among others, a mobile phone and money.
