Ahead of the education institutions re-opening for candidates and finalists while celebrating independence, Fagil Mandy, a renown educationist has advised that for teachers to be independent socially and economically, they should continue with small businesses that bring in more income but also teacher in schools.
The fears were based on the chaos that marred the examinations body in the recent past pitting the Board Chairman Fagyl Mandy against Executive secretary Mathew Bukenya. There was also an alleged technical hitch which interrupted the marking and compilation of results.
Fort portal municipality and Ntungamo District emerged as the best performing areas with no failure rates recorded. Others with marginal failure rates are Mbarara, Kabarole district, Entebbe, Masaka, Jinja, Rukungiri and Gulu districts.
