Dr Innocent Nkonwa the Luwero District Health Officer says that they have started a campaign to sensitize the women about the use of the female condoms and ensure they are available across health centers.
Kazibwe says despite the fact that government distributes male condoms to these landing sites as one of the ways to prevent new infections and unwanted pregnancies, fishermen do not use them.
Women in Kumi district have shunned free female condoms in spite of their availability. About 200 female condom packs have been lying idle in Kumi health centre IV since September, 2012.
