Residents in the city argue that failure to collect garbage and poor disposal has become a threat to their health and the environment and could expose them to hygiene-related diseases such as Diarrhoea, typhoid and cholera.
Prior to the decision, Uganda Police Force provided meals for all officers and suspects at all police stations around Southern region. The meals include breakfast served with porridge and bread and a lunch package comprising of posho and beans. Suspects would also get dinner.
At least 16 ambassadors continue to draw a monthly salary of 1.5 million shillings each even though they are yet to report to their respective missions six months after their appointment. This means government has spent up to 130 million shillings to pay salaries for its ambassadors who are not posted.
