Juma Hassan Nyene, the East Kyoga Police spokesperson, says Akiiso faces charges of extortion and obtaining money by false pretense. According to Nyene, the officer was picked up after her victims complained that she obtained money from them promising to help them join Uganda Prison Services last year, in vain.
Samuel Adome, a teacher at Light SS told Uganda Radio Network on Monday they had not received any notification from the candidates nor their parents on why they failed to show up for the examinations.
