Balinda accuses Byaruhanga and his executive of failing to monitor and supervise government projects in the district. Balinda argues that the failure to monitor government projects resulted in shoddy works on the construction of a lined pit latrine at Miduma Primary School, the renovation of Kihagani Primary School staff quarters, and boreholes in Kijunjubwa and Kimengo sub-counties that were never constructed.
During his impromptu visit to monitor different government projects in Bunyoro, the State Minister for Economic Monitoring Peter Ogwang discovered several defects on the buildings even before they are commissioned.

A maternity ward at Awal-wal Health Centre II in Soroti district has remained closed more than a year after its construction. Located in Gweri Sub County, the facility built at the cost of 85 million Shillings in the 2015/2016 financial year has remained non-operational due to substandard construction work. Both the community and local council authority rejected its commissioning in 2016 after realising the facility was built without a placenta disposal pit, drainage lines, bathrooms, attendants kitchen and shelter.
Bushenyi Municipality engineer Deus Baingana has come under fire over alleged shoddy work. Baingana is accused of messing up a road contract worth 400 million shillings that connects Bushenyi Main road to Katokye and the State Lodge.

The Kijonjo Bridge over River Naludugavu connects Kabira Sub-county to Kasasa Sub-county and Kyotera town council in Rakai. The latest victim\'s body was discovered on Tuesday, January 13, 2015.
