Through his lawyer, Ojok and Co Advocates, Kipoi wants court to order the Director of Public Prosecution-DPP, Justice Mike Chibita to stop prosecuting him in the General Court Martial yet he is a civilian.
His threat comes as the committee concludes investigations into the conduct of the MP Tonny Kipoi following reports of his recent arrest among rebels in the jungles of the Democratic Republic of Congo vis-Ã -vis his continued absence in parliament.
Parliament’s Rules, Privileges and Discipline Committee has insisted and directed Kipoi’s lawyers Mukasa Mbidde and Nteyera Patrick to avail the committee with documents pertaining Kipoi’s travels to South Africa and DRC in line with medical attention by close of business today.
Kipoi was expected to appear before the rules committee today in response to summons issued earlier but instead city Lawyer Fred Mukasa Mbidde wrote stating that he had been appointed by the MP to appear on his behalf. There however was no proof for the directive.
