Dr Paska Apiyo, the Head of the COVID -19 Treatment Centre at Gulu Regional Referral Hospital told URN in an interview that one of the COVID -19 positive mothers was forced to carry her child along because her husband-a police officer- declined to take care of the child claiming he has a busy schedule.
The woman allegedly picked the infection from her son, she visited in Elegu two weeks ago. She later developed symptoms similar to those of COVID-19, prompting her to seek medical attention at the health facility.
Dr Paska Apiyo, the in-charge of Isolation Ward at Gulu Regional Referral Hospital said the patients underwent both medical treatment and psychosocial support and that their quick recovery follows their cooperation and compliance with the health workers.

The director of Gulu referral hospital has appealed to the government and donors to help in establishing a special needs education centre for children with nodding syndrome. Dr. Nathan Onyachi told Members of Parliament in Gulu that there are currently only 30 children with nodding syndrome who are pursuing primary education under the normal system.
A safe male circumcision camp organized at Gulu regional referral hospital for one week has registered low turn as residents prepare to celebrate the festive season. According to numbers obtained by URN, 400 males were circumcised by the end of the camp which ended last week.
