On Tuesday, the Solicitor General Francis Atoke, issued a statement indicating that he constituted a Committee as required by the Employment (sexual harassment) regulations 2012 on February 6th 2019 to investigate the complaints.
Abdu Katuntu, the COSASE Chairperson was particularly displeased with the revelation and demanded for a list of government institutions that has defaulted on payment.
These include an expenditure of 726 million Shillings for which vouchers for activities ranging from 2012-2016.cannot be traced and a payments of 290 million Shillings, part of which was received by one signatory on behalf of 12 recipients. The committee observed that in some cases, acknowledgement lists have been attached but the officers who signed for the money are not stated.
