President Yoweri Museveni has reiterated his position against homosexuality saying that the act is a deviation from normal. Museveni made the statement while addressing Parliament on Thursday in a sitting held at Kololo Independence grounds.

According to Isanga, the church can only have the moral conviction to resist homosexuality when financially dependent on in-house solutions like involvement in agriculture and other small-scale industries to boost their incomes for development, which over time can help them to resist conditional funding aimed at promoting immorality.

Speaking at the summit, Tayebwa said Uganda is deeply concerned over coercive and persistent calls to the African, Caribbean, and Pacific – ACP States by the EU, and partners to adopt homosexuality.

A priest accused of sodomising 16 primary school pupils remains in custody, nine days after he was arrested. Julius Ssemaganda, the Church of Uganda priest attached to Buzza Church of Uganda, was arrested last week.

The three pastors were convicted for tarnishing the name and image of their colleague Robert Kayanja of Rubaga Miracle Center Cathedral by accusing him of sodomising his flock.
