“Human sacrifice is a growing concern to law enforcement agencies, parents, child rights activists and the general public. Records from the Uganda Police Force show that human sacrifice cases have been steadily increasing for the last several years,” reads part of the committee report.
A person who contravenes this provision commits the offence of human sacrifice and is liable, on conviction, to suffer death.
The village Vice Chairman Wilson Mulongo said he received reports about the disappearance of the seven months old baby from her mother on Wednesday. A subsequent search this morning uncovered the baby hidden in a bush situated about 50 meters from Kasadhas shrine.

Businessman Godfrey Kato Kajubi has been convicted for murder and sentenced to life imprisonment. Masaka High Court Judge Justice Mike Chibita found Kajubi guilty of murdering 12 year old boy Joseph Kasirye in October 2008.
