The 23-year-old woman who was gang-raped by five Pakistani Nationals is undergoing specialized treatment to repair her reproductive and excretory organs damaged during the attack.
An online petition calling for Minister Kibuule’s resignation over his reckless comments on rape victims has already gathered close to 500 signatures three hours after it was started. Speaker Kadaga has also asked the minister to make a formal apology to the Ugandan public over the statements he made over the weekend.
The Uganda Police Force is yet to construct a fully-fledged clinic where they carry out examinations on victims of assault and currently have to rely on government health centres and on doctors in private practice.
