The boundary dispute started in 2012 when Adjumani district council gazetted the area as East Madi Game Reserve, a move which was opposed by authorities in Amuru district, which equally claimed rights over the same land.
This comes after three people were killed and eight others critically injured in fresh clashes between the Madi from Juka in Adjumani district and Acholi in Apaa in Amuru district on Wednesday. Members of Parliament from the area have accused veteran politician, General Moses Ali, for inciting violence in what they call a ploy to grab land.
