Speaking at the university’s 75th graduation ceremony, Kigongo, who also serves as the national vice-chairperson of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party, stressed that the course is crucial for providing graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary to tackle Uganda’s pressing socio-economic challenges.
For the past eight years, Stanbic Bank Uganda has hosted secondary school debate competitions known as the Stanbic National School Championship. The competition aims to identify and promote talent, stimulate innovation, and recognize the best innovative idea with significant business sense and societal impact.
Speaking to URN (Uganda Radio Network) on the sidelines, Kakumba reiterated that, while AI offers numerous advantages, it poses a substantial threat to creativity, especially among Uganda's youthful demographic, which comprises a significant portion of the nation's population.
Liu Jiawei, the Huawei Managing Director, said this partnership and academy will help in career building for all ICT providers, network experts and students.
